Sayulita offers the best of the beach and the jungle with many options for outdoor adventures! The eco conscious Haramara retreat center is built on untouched land, offering a truly unique opportunity to rediscover nature.

Asana, in Sanskrit, means pose or posture. The retreat's name is representative of our vision; to bring people together to share a rejuvenating week of yoga & martial arts, outdoor adventures and significant chill time in a luxurious but eco-friendly environment.

Chill’asana in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, read in a hammock by your cabaña, go zip lining, take a surfing lesson or try the sweat lodge - make it your ideal vacation! We’ll have two yoga classes a day, martial arts workshops (that will include elements from Malaysian/Indonesian Silat, Filipino Kali, Capoeira and more), Zenza Flow* (see bottom of page)  and several group excursions, leaving the rest of the time for you to make new friends, unplug and reconnect.

Our retreats aim to inspire personal growth and supportive community while focusing on movement practices that connect and challenge the body and mind.  We will practice in the open air of the jungle, hike down to our own private beach, take part in interpersonal activities and develop a supportive community of friends on a truly rustic adventure that will reconnect you with yourself and with nature.

We welcome all levels of experience. You don't need to be a yogi or a martial artist, you just need to be a human being interested in learning, exploring and growing! Basic familiarity with yoga is recommended but not required.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES (extra cost):

  • Horseback riding

  • Jungle canopy zip line

  • Snorkeling

  • Stand up paddle board lesson

  • Surfing lesson

  • Cooking class

  • Massage

  • Acupuncture and spa services

The Chill'Asana Team

Nathania Stambouli (Retreat Leader & Yoga Instructor) -  Coming from a background in bodybuilding and circuit training, Nathania stumbled into yoga by accident in 2009 and what started as a purely physical adventure became a journey towards healing old wounds and experiencing a profound personal transformation. Through a dedicated yoga practice and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Nat unearthed a passion for helping others transform their lives, free themselves from negative behavior patterns and dare to be unapologetically real. She believes that yoga - and a healthy mind-body connection - is a gateway to self-love and understanding. Her classes are athletic and fluid, creatively sequenced and sprinkled with playful arm balances and transitions. Expect to be inspired and to learn to laugh at yourself. Expect to discover how your time on the mat is a mirror for your life and an invaluable tool to help you become your own best supporter. Nathania owns and operates GODA Yoga, a yoga studio in Culver City, California and has run multiple international retreats with the Chill'Asana Team.

Paul "The British Ninja” McCarthy (Martial Arts Instructor) - Paul has been studying movement and martial arts for over 20 years. He holds black belts in martial arts including Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Hapkido (4th degree) and Taekwondo (1st degree) and is an instructor of Savate, Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do. With an MS from Indiana University in Kinesiology and his experience coaching, teaching and managing various movement practices, Paul is fascinated by what makes the body ‘tick’. He is currently working with Neuroscience Professors at UCLA, University of Victoria and University of Illinois to study how martial arts movement patterns improve cognitive function. Paul’s philosophy is that movement is vital to a happy and healthy life and that training and opening your mind to multiple arts, whether combative or healing, is the true path to maximizing your potential. In May 2016 he presented his research on Filipino Kali Escrima and Cognitive Development (‘Cognitive Kali’) at TEDxUCLA and aims to create a revolution in movement research across the world.

Chill'Asana Testimonials

"This experience was completely transformative to the well being on my soul. The connections that were made with 35 strangers from all over the United states and Canada were authentic and absent of ego. We became a family almost instantly! I felt comfortable and supported and encouraged to be my true self. I am forever grateful for Nathania, Paul and Monica because they had a vision and held their vision into its fruition. Thank you all for having the courage to dream big! I will travel anywhere to be apart of such a beautiful and brilliant team. Thank you."   - Anonymous Retreater

"Thank you for being so amazing. Don't change a thing about yourselves. I loved that you weren't "yoga travel experts" per se. I felt like we were ALL on a journey together figuring out how to make a magical experience. It was organic and real. Nat, you are such a force of nature. Trust your instincts; they are divine!"  -MiAngel C.

"There is simply no describing the depth of connection I felt with my 35 fellow travelers, none of whom I met before last Saturday night. For those that equate yoga to a bunch of hippies sitting around chanting OM, you have no idea how far off from the truth you could be. It simply transcends description, and can only be understood through engagement with the movement, the principles, and the beautiful community that evolves."  - Lacie C.

"This experience completely changed my life. I was physically and emotionally rejuvenated in a priceless way."   - Kim C.

"I just want to say thank you to Nathania, Monica and Paul for leading such an amazing retreat! This was my first ever yoga retreat and they have set the bar so high that I'm not sure another will ever top it! I was hoping I would enjoy the instructors when I booked this retreat and after our first class together they all instantly became my new favorites! Amazing teachers! So much love to you all!!! Thank you!"  - Melissa V.
